What Is a Flower Subscription? And Is It Worth It?

Fresh flowers at your door on a schedule, without remembering to order every time.

Seasonal wildflower arrangement from a monthly flower subscription by Golden Hour Blooms Co. in Markham and Whitby

The short answer

A flower subscription is a fresh arrangement delivered to your door on a set schedule, so you never have to remember to reorder.

At Golden Hour Blooms Co., subscriptions are monthly and use our same three sizes: First Light from $50, Softest Hour from $70, or The Whole Meadow from $125 per delivery. No contract, and you pay per delivery.

How does a flower subscription work?

Most florists ask you to choose three things:

  • How often. Weekly, every two weeks, or monthly, depending on the florist. Ours is monthly.
  • What size. A smaller arrangement for a side table, or a statement piece for the kitchen or dining room.
  • Your palette. Warm tones, soft pastels, or florist’s choice, where the florist picks what’s freshest and most beautiful that week.

With us, it’s simple. You email or DM us, we confirm your size and monthly date, and your wildflower arrangement arrives on schedule. You pay by Interac e-transfer for each delivery, never a large sum up front. See exactly how our subscription works.

What does a flower subscription cost?

Across Toronto and the GTA, local florist subscriptions usually run from about $45 to $200 per delivery, depending on size and how often flowers arrive. Some florists charge the full term up front; others, like us, charge per delivery.

Our subscription uses one simple price list, the same one as every bouquet we make:

SizePriceStems
First LightFrom $508 to 10 stems
Softest HourFrom $7010 to 14 stems
The Whole MeadowFrom $12514 to 18 stems

Prices start at the amount shown and follow the season’s stems. There’s no separate subscription price list to decode.

Is a flower subscription worth it?

For most people who ask, yes, for three reasons:

  • It removes the friction. The main reason people don’t have flowers at home isn’t cost. It’s remembering to order. A subscription solves that for good.
  • You get the season at its best. Each month follows what Ontario is growing: tulips in spring, cosmos in summer, dahlias in fall.
  • It changes how your home feels. Research from Rutgers University found that fresh flowers at home lift mood right away and support long-term life satisfaction.

“The most common thing subscribers tell us after their second or third delivery: I can’t believe I didn’t do this sooner.”

Who benefits most from a flower subscription?

  • People who love flowers but never remember to order them
  • Anyone working from home who wants their space to feel beautiful
  • People who treat fresh flowers as a small, regular act of self-care
  • Gift-givers who want to keep showing up for someone, month after month

Can I give a flower subscription as a gift?

Yes, and it’s one of the most thoughtful gifts there is. A three, six, or twelve-month subscription for a new mom, a friend who just moved, or a parent you want to spoil says something a single bouquet can’t: that you thought of them more than once. Gift subscriptions are paid up front for the months you choose.
